Object Retrieval

The first thing that came into my head when I saw the toy car was of a similar one that I had when I was a child. I am not sure whether or not mine had lead paint in it however. Such a seemingly harmless and innocent looking toy initially made me smile and evoked fond memories. When you actually consider the grim history of the object my initial feelings were replaced with one of dejection as it was the cause of the death of a young child. The Perspex case which encloses the Sunliner hints at its destructive past; it’s as if a boundary has been erected between the viewer and the object to stop history repeating itself.
